
Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris returned to the country Friday following a two-day official visit to Egypt. Upon arrival at Port Sudan airport, he was welcomed by Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, Minister of Industry and Trade Mohasen Ali Yaqoub, and several officials.
Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism Khalid Al-Aysir said in press remarks that the visit was successful and achieved its goals, highlighting several important meetings and events. He confirmed the visit’s timely nature and that there will be follow-up engagements.
He added that the delegation led by Kamil Idris held joint talks with the Egyptian side headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, covering key issues including Nile water, achieving security and stability in Sudan, and protecting the Sudanese state from regional and international violations.
Al-Aysir explained that Kamel Idris met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Prime Minister Madbouly, and several ministers including those of foreign affairs, culture, and tourism, along with other officials, noting the meetings were fruitful.
He added that the Egyptian leadership expressed great enthusiasm and clear support for Sudanese issues, and the delegation witnessed the seriousness with which Egypt supports the concerns of the Sudanese people.
He noted that the joint talks resulted in important agreements, particularly concerning the Sudanese community in areas of education and residency, as well as support for Sudan’s projects regionally and internationally. Discussions also addressed the electric grid linkage and cooperation methods in that field.
