Governor of Darfur, Commander Minni Arcua Minawi, confirmed that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) receive generous support from certain countries and are recruiting mercenaries from more than a dozen nations, in blatant violation of international law and national sovereignty.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Minawi said the militias have imposed a suffocating siege on El Fasher, burned down the Zamzam IDP camp, and committed heinous crimes against defenseless civilians.
He asserted that the exceptional situation will not last long and that they are determined to liberate their besieged people, restore national dignity, and reunite the social fabric.
Minawi renewed his pledge to his people to continue the struggle until victory is achieved, affirming that honor will remain the right of this proud people and that defeat will befall those who betray and conspire.
