Central Bank Directs Banks to Resume Operations in Khartoum

The Central Bank of Sudan has instructed banks that have not yet resumed operations in Khartoum State to reopen their branches without delay and to expand their geographic coverage to all localities in the state, rather than limiting services to select areas.

The bank urged all financial institutions to take the necessary technical and administrative measures to restart operations quickly, emphasizing that swift compliance would constitute a valuable national contribution toward facilitating the return of residents to Khartoum and enabling them to access essential banking services.

The directive is part of broader government efforts to create a conducive environment for the return of citizens and the normalization of public life in the capital.
