Sudan, Egypt Discuss Cooperation in Mining Sector

Sudan’s Minister of Minerals, Nour Al-Daim Taha, met on Tuesday in Port Sudan with Egyptian Consul Ahmed Youssef, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals Hind Siddiq, Director-General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Mohamed Taher Omar, and the ministry’s executive director. The discussions explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and open new avenues for investment in the mining sector in line with the shared interests of both nations.
The minister welcomed the Egyptian consul, stressing the deep historical and fraternal ties between Sudan and Egypt, and praising Cairo’s consistent support for the Sudanese people at various stages.
For his part, Consul Ahmed Youssef expressed his appreciation for the meeting, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to expanding its partnership with Sudan in the mining sector and supporting ongoing efforts to develop it in ways that contribute to sustainable development for both peoples.
