Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, Malik Aqar, declared that the war is nearing its end and will be followed by a phase of development, reconstruction, and community reconciliation to heal divisions and address grievances in conflict-affected areas.
Speaking in Al-Jazira State, Aqar insisted that the Sudanese people have decisively rejected any role for the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the nation’s political future, labeling them as mercenaries. “They should seek a place in the countries they came from,” he said.
He stressed that the RSF’s systematic destruction of Sudan’s infrastructure—particularly in Al-Jazira—has eliminated any possibility of them being part of the country’s future, regardless of the cost.
