Minister of Livestock: Our Plan Begins with Establishing a Livestock Production City in River Nile State

Minister of Livestock and Fisheries Dr. Ahmed Al-Tijani announced that his ministry’s strategic plan will start in River Nile State with the establishment of a major city dedicated to livestock production and processing.
Speaking in Al-Damer after meetings with Governor Dr. Mohammed Al-Badawi Abdel-Majid and staff of the state’s Ministry of Livestock, the minister revealed that the project, to be located in the River Nile State free zone to attract investors, will include cattle, sheep, goat, and camel farms, as well as meat processing and packaging plants with international certifications such as ISO to ensure quality and global market access. It will also feature dairy factories, leather goods plants producing shoes, bags, belts, and jackets, while also incorporating cattle horns and intestines into industrial use.
The minister stressed that the project will integrate local herders and small-scale producers, supporting them with improved pens, medicines, concentrated feed, embryo transfer, and artificial insemination.
He added that River Nile State was chosen due to its proximity to export ports and marketing hubs in Arab and European countries, ensuring fresh delivery of products, in addition to its natural advantages in production and grazing.
