Fuel Crisis in Khartoum: Black Market Prices Reach 50,000 SDG per Gallon

Fuel stations in Omdurman, Khartoum State, have experienced an almost complete shutdown over the past two days amid a severe fuel shortage.
Cars lined up at stations throughout last week, only to find them completely empty, except for a few outlets supplying government vehicles under a rationing system.
Public transport drivers told Darfur24 that the black-market price of a gallon has reached between 40,000 and 50,000 SDG, while the official price remains no more than 17,000 SDG.
One driver said he spent the entire day searching for fuel without success, refusing to pay 50,000 SDG, noting that such a price would make it impossible to earn a living since passengers would not accept the hike.
Another driver reported traveling to Bahri in search of fuel, only to fail in his attempt, while a third driver managed to purchase fuel at 40,000 SDG per gallon, compelled by his obligations to his customers.
