Mineral Resources Company Reports Major Increases in Gold Output and Revenues

Sudan Events – Rahab Abdullah

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company has announced significant increases in gold production and revenues.

The update came during a virtual meeting Tuesday between the General Directorate of State Affairs and state office directors, held via Zoom from Port Sudan and attended by Assistant Director-General for Technical Affairs, Geological Consultant Osman Suleiman Hammad. The company confirmed stable operations across mining markets.

State office directors presented detailed reports on mining activities, achievements, and challenges.

Hammad praised the sector’s strong performance despite wartime conditions, commending productive results achieved under exceptional challenges. He emphasized the need to create a safer work environment, expand awareness of chemical hazards, and enforce occupational safety procedures in both mines and processing areas—especially within the traditional mining sector—to ensure improved outcomes in the future.

Director-General for State Affairs Hatem al-Bushra also praised local efforts and pledged to resolve obstacles to guarantee continued success in the coming period.

The meeting was part of the company’s operational monitoring process and its strategy to strengthen mining sector development at the state level.
