Sudan’s Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources has announced a rapid decline in Nile River water levels along the stretch between Rosieres and Khartoum, with Khartoum’s gauge recording a 0.5-meter drop.
Conversely, water levels continue to rise in the section between Shendi and Kajbar, raising the risk of flooding in those areas.
The ministry urged residents living along the riverbanks—especially in low-lying areas near the Nile—to take necessary precautions to protect their lives and property, stressing the importance of heightened vigilance in the coming days.
