Experts and diplomats in London: a just peace is the way to overcome the war in Sudan

The Sudanese-British Friendship Association organized a seminar in London under the title: “sustainable peace in Sudan: opportunities, obstacles and challenges”.
The seminar was moderated by Professor Wolfgang Decker, professor of international relations at the American University in London, and was attended by a number of prominent speakers, including Ambassador Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, who stressed that the government has been seeking to achieve a “just peace” since the outbreak of the war, pointing out that the visit of the Sudanese media delegation to the UK contributed to moving the media and political movement around Sudan.
The seminar was also attended by the Sudanese charge d’affaires in London, Ambassador Mohamed Salah, and Dr. Khaled al-Tajani al-Nour, editor-in-chief of the Elaf newspaper, and Dr. Osama aidros, an academic and specialist in strategic and Security Studies, in addition to Dr. Ali Abdel Rahim, assistant professor at the Faculty of Oriental and African Studies, University of London (SOAS).
The seminar witnessed the remarkable presence of a number of ambassadors of African countries to the United Kingdom, as well as British media professionals and Sudanese intellectuals residing in Britain, who influenced the discussion with their interventions on ways to support the peace process in Sudan and ways to overcome the effects of the current war.
The deliberations touched upon the most prominent challenges facing the building of a just and sustainable peace, while reviewing the opportunities available to Sudanese at home and abroad to contribute to achieving stability, stressing at the same time the importance of the International and community role in supporting the efforts of political transition and building a modern civil state
