Prime Minister and Attorney General Discuss Anti-Corruption Efforts

Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Idris met on Monday with Attorney General Intisar Ahmed Abdel-Aal, who also chairs the National Committee for Investigating Violations of National and International Humanitarian Law, in the presence of senior advisors and officials.

The Attorney General welcomed the Prime Minister, emphasizing that the visit underscores efforts to strengthen cooperation among state institutions. She briefed him on the committee’s work, highlighting violations against women and recent steps to remove jurisdictional barriers hindering victims’ access to justice.

She also referred to her participation in the 60th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, as part of efforts to raise awareness about human rights violations and promote accountability.

Prime Minister Idris stressed the importance of institutional coordination to reinforce the rule of law and combat corruption, calling for greater cooperation with oversight bodies, particularly the National Audit Chamber.

The meeting discussed several priority issues, including mechanisms to strengthen transparency, institutional accountability, and ensure zero tolerance for impunity.
