Seven Killed in Militia Shelling on El Fasher

At least seven people were killed when Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia shelled a butcher’s market complex in El Fasher, North Darfur State.

According to Khamis Doda, spokesperson for the Zamzam IDP camp, who spoke to Ultra Sudan, the RSF fired artillery at the complex, killing more than seven people. He added that killings in El Fasher have become a near-daily occurrence.

Doda said the militia continues to target shelters using artillery, drones, rockets, and launchers, resulting in fires at several displacement centers and damage to the Dar Al-Arqam center. He noted that the full extent of the losses remains unknown.

He further confirmed the shortage of umbaz (animal feed) in El Fasher, noting that a single sack of flour now costs five million Sudanese pounds—and is scarce even at that price.

Doda added that attempts to smuggle food supplies into the city from the nearby area of Tawila have become “suicidal” due to the RSF-imposed siege on El Fasher.
