Minnawi: El Fasher Will Not Fall, and Our Will Cannot Be Broken

Darfur Regional Governor Minni Arko Minnawi said that the sons and daughters of El Fasher had written “a new chapter in the history of resilience — one titled dignity and victory,” despite the long siege, hunger, and destruction surrounding the city.

He stated that “the free people have proven that the will of nations cannot be defeated and that the voice of truth rises above the sound of bullets.”

In a post on Facebook, Minnawi said that Friday’s battles bore witness to the courage of the fighters and the steadfastness of the townspeople, “who neither wavered nor surrendered.” He stressed that “every street in El Fasher has become a front of honor and resistance.”

He extended his salute to the “heroes in the field who revived hope,” as well as to “the mothers of martyrs and the wounded, and everyone who stood firm,” adding, “El Fasher will not fall, and our will cannot be broken.”
