Two Sudanese traders were killed in the Central African Republic (CAR) by members of the “Seleka” armed group, according to local sources.
A Sudanese trader who spoke to Darfur24 on condition of anonymity said that the victims were working at the “Andaha” gold mine and were carrying about 70 grams of gold when armed men from the Seleka group arrived and demanded payment of 50,000 CFA francs for the forces’ office.
He added that a dispute ensued, after which one of the armed men opened fire, killing both Sudanese traders instantly. The perpetrator fled the scene but was later arrested.
