The Sudan Doctors Network reported on Friday that at least three children are dying every day in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, due to severe hunger and food shortages, amid rapidly deteriorating humanitarian and health conditions in the city.
Spokesperson Razan Mahdi said in a statement: “Every passing day, we lose no fewer than three children in El Fasher to malnutrition, disease, and the acute lack of medical and humanitarian resources.”
She described the humanitarian situation as catastrophic, with rising child mortality linked to acute food shortages and widespread malnutrition, and no signs of humanitarian corridors being opened to rescue thousands of trapped children and families.
The network expressed deep concern over the grim conditions documented by its field teams, noting that the severe shortages of food and medicine caused by the ongoing siege have pushed the humanitarian situation beyond comprehension.
