The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have expanded their drone attacks on cities under Sudanese army control, launching strikes on Sinja and Sennar in Sennar State on Friday.
Earlier the same day, the city of Damazin came under drone attack—the third of its kind, according to a statement from the Blue Nile Regional Government, which said that the Army’s 4th Infantry Division had successfully repelled the assault.
The statement reported two civilian injuries, who were later taken to hospital for treatment.
This marks the first time that RSF drones have targeted Sinja, the capital of Sennar State.
Local government sources said that RSF drones struck the Sinja power substation, causing a complete blackout in the city, located in central Sudan.
The same sources reported damage to civilian infrastructure in Sennar City, though details were not disclosed.
