Army Repels Militia Attack Near Al-Rahad

On Sunday, the Sudanese Armed Forces repelled an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on their forward positions in Umm Bashar village, approximately 12 kilometers west of Al-Rahad city in North Kordofan state.

Local sources told Darfur24 that the assault occurred on Sunday morning, sparking fierce clashes between the two sides. The armed forces successfully pushed back the attackers toward Al-Ubaiba, a known RSF stronghold near Al-Rahad.

A local official dismissed media reports claiming a direct attack on Al-Rahad city itself, confirming that clashes were confined to Umm Bashar.

Mohamed Hasaballah Mohamed Al-Dou, the administrative mayor of West Al-Rahad, told Darfur24 that the attack targeted army positions in Umm Bashar and was repelled with support from other state forces. He added that the situation inside Al-Rahad remains completely stable, with no security threats or approaching attacks, and that life continues normally within the city.
