Masoud Boulos, US Presidential Envoy for African Affairs, described Sudan’s humanitarian situation as the world’s largest crisis, highlighting conditions in Al-Fashir in recent weeks.
He deemed the situation unacceptable and emphasized the need for swift resolution, echoing recent remarks by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Washington has proposed a three-month humanitarian ceasefire in Sudan, supported by the Saudi-Emirati-Egyptian Quartet, aiming to implement the detailed roadmap outlined on September 12 for lasting peace.
Boulos noted that countries like Qatar and Turkey play pivotal roles in the Sudanese file, stressing cooperation with all partners to first achieve a humanitarian ceasefire, followed by comprehensive roadmap implementation to end the conflict.
