Saudi Arabia and Egypt stress the need for a ceasefire in Sudan

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, the latest developments in Sudan and ongoing coordination within the framework of the International Quad, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg.
The two ministers emphasized the need to reach a comprehensive ceasefire and to create the conditions necessary for resuming the political process in a manner that preserves Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, and alleviates the suffering of the Sudanese people.
They reaffirmed their support for Sudan’s national state institutions and highlighted the importance of coordinating Arab and regional efforts to achieve security and stability in Sudan and the wider region.
Separately, the meeting addressed the outcomes of the visit by Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, to the United States. Minister Abdelatty welcomed the successful and fruitful results of this visit and its importance in serving the interests of the Arab and Islamic nations.
