Saudi Cabinet Praises Trump’s Response to Crown Prince’s Call to Act to Stop Sudan War

In its session on Tuesday, the Saudi Cabinet commended U.S. President Donald Trump’s response to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s call regarding the urgent need to intervene to halt the war in Sudan and prevent the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in Darfur, Khartoum, and other states.
The Cabinet emphasized that the recent U.S. action was “in line with the Saudi vision calling for an end to the conflict and the establishment of an inclusive political path that preserves Sudan’s unity and stability.”
The Saudi stance came days after a meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Trump in Washington, which, according to informed diplomatic sources, involved in-depth discussions on the dangers of leaving the Sudanese war without coordinated international intervention—particularly following the Rapid Support Forces’ takeover of Al-Fashir and increasing UN reports of atrocities and widespread violations against civilians.
The statement noted that the Cabinet viewed Trump’s swift response as reflecting “the importance of strategic coordination between Riyadh and Washington on urgent regional issues,” and affirmed that the Kingdom “will continue its diplomatic efforts with international partners to ensure a ceasefire, open humanitarian corridors, and initiate a negotiation process led by Sudanese parties under the auspices of regional institutions.”
