Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, expressed Khartoum’s desire for the British government to participate in supporting comprehensive peace efforts and addressing the economic consequences of the war, which has devastated infrastructure and essential services.
During a meeting Wednesday in Port Sudan with the British ambassador, Ibrahim said the international community has failed to provide adequate support to Sudan or condemn the “rebel militia.”
The British ambassador, for his part, reaffirmed London’s interest in ending the war and ensuring humanitarian aid reaches affected civilians.
