British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper on Tuesday called for immediate accountability for those responsible for “heinous crimes” in Sudan, stressing that attacks on civilians and medical facilities are absolutely unacceptable, according to Cairo News.
In a post on X, Cooper wrote: “The horrors in Sudan continue, where children are being killed in kindergartens and patients are being killed in hospitals.”
She reaffirmed fundamental principles of international humanitarian law, stating: “Civilians and healthcare facilities must never be legitimate targets.”
She further warned all warring parties that “those responsible for these heinous crimes must be held to account.”
