Mubarak Ardol, head of the Democratic Alliance for Social Justice and a prominent figure in the Democratic Block, announced that the Sudanese–Sudanese dialogue meetings in Djibouti have been postponed to January for further preparations.
Speaking to Al-Muhaqiq news outlet, Ardol said: “We received our invitations from the Quad Mechanism as individual organizations within the Democratic Block, because the matter requires separate decisions from each organization due to differing views on the dialogue.” He added that coordination among the members of the block and other national political forces would follow.
Ardol confirmed that the Taassis group will not participate, saying he learned from the organizers that Taassis would not attend. He noted that Taassis is a coalition led by the RSF and is considered aligned with military forces.
“We believe the political process should be civilian-led,” Ardol said, adding that discussions on the ceasefire and humanitarian process should be held with military actors, in line with the Jeddah Declaration.
