Bodies and Wounded UN Soldiers Evacuated from Kadugli to Abyei

The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) on Sunday evacuated the bodies of those killed and the wounded who fell as a result of an airstrike that targeted UNISFA facilities in the city of Kadugli, South Kordofan State, to the Abyei area.

Military sources reported that a UNISFA aircraft landed in Kadugli carrying doctors and paramedics from Ghana to evacuate seven wounded personnel and six bodies of those killed in the airstrike that hit the UN mission’s headquarters in Kadugli.

The sources added that the transfer of the bodies from Kadugli to Abyei was attended by the commander of the Bangladeshi contingent, a commander from the Sudanese Armed Forces, and UNISFA officers.
