
On Tuesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held a phone call with Masud Pauls, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, as part of ongoing coordination and consultation between Egypt and the United States across various sectors, reflecting the depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Both sides praised the distinguished bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of continuing close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest. They discussed several African files, focusing on the situations in Sudan and Libya, as well as developments in the Great Lakes region, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Horn of Africa.
Regarding Sudan, both sides stressed the importance of supporting Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity and reiterated their complete rejection of any attempts to divide the country or undermine its stability.
They also condemned the recent attack on the UN mission headquarters in Kadugli and expressed full solidarity with the Sudanese people during this critical period.
Minister Abdel-Aati affirmed Egypt’s full support for Sudanese national institutions, emphasizing the need to launch an effective humanitarian corridor to ensure unhindered aid delivery, alongside increased relief support and cooperation with the UN, African Union, and relief agencies. He highlighted the importance of regional and international efforts to support a comprehensive ceasefire and initiate an inclusive political process that meets the Sudanese people’s aspirations for security, stability, and development.
