Sudan Doctors Network reported that 16 people, including women and children, were killed, and others injured, in artillery shelling by the RSF and the SPLM-North on Deleng city in South Kordofan over the past 48 hours.
In a statement, the network condemned the “deliberate shelling,” noting that targeting residential areas violates international humanitarian law, exacerbates civilian suffering, and strains already limited health services.
The network called on the international community to pressure RSF and SPLM-North leaders to immediately cease attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, ensure the safety of medical personnel, and facilitate humanitarian aid access.
Sudan Doctors Network spokesperson Mohamed Faisal Hassan told Al Jazeera that conditions are worsening in conflict areas, with displaced people facing abductions and sexual assaults by RSF militias. The network documented dozens of cases of sexual violence, especially during displacement from El Fasher.
