The Rapid Support Forces reportedly detain hundreds of civilians and military personnel in Dakris Prison in Nyala, with dozens killed or dying inside cells.
Families from East Darfur organized a protest in Al-Du’ain, demanding the release of detainees, following the death of Ali Adam, former state finance director, due to diabetes complications under harsh prison conditions.
Protesters expressed concern over the deteriorating health of detainees transferred from Al-Du’ain and other localities to Dakris, calling for urgent intervention to save their lives. RSF previously conducted mass arrests in January targeting senior civil servants, politicians, and state officials, accusing them of collaborating with the Sudanese government.
