
A member of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief and head of the Higher Committee for Preparing the Environment for Return to Khartoum State, Lt. Gen. Engineer and Advisor Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, received a delegation of journalists.
The visit aimed to brief the media on the committee’s efforts to prepare conditions for return to Khartoum State, assess tasks related to removing the effects of war, securing stability, and restoring basic services.
The Sovereign Council member affirmed the committee’s full readiness to respond to all questions from journalists and media outlets regarding its work program and the government’s strategy to reshape the capital and outline the future of urban and economic development in the country.
He also invited journalists to conduct field visits to examine details on the ground and assess the scale of efforts underway to restore Khartoum’s former vitality and secure the foundations of a dignified life for citizens.
The media delegation is scheduled to carry out field visits to a number of service facilities, government institutions, universities, and private-sector entities, in addition to conducting interviews with residents to gauge their views on return and its requirements.
