Accusations Against Militia for Executing and Burning Wounded in Al-Fashir

The Popular Resistance in North Darfur dismissed a UN mission’s visit to Al-Fashir, claiming it was delayed until evidence had been erased by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and restricted to militia-designated sites.

Abu Bakr Ahmed Imam, official spokesperson for the resistance, stated that UN Humanitarian Coordinator Denise Brown visited “too late to have meaningful impact,” noting that critical locations such as Shalla Prison, the Children’s Hospital, and Zamzam Camp—now under RSF control—were excluded.

Imam alleged that wounded civilians unable to flee were “executed cold-bloodedly” and some “burned alive or buried in mass graves,” emphasizing that the absence of wounded is a direct result of systematic atrocities. He called on the international community to designate the RSF as a terrorist organization and initiate an urgent investigation into crimes in Al-Fashir.
