The Sudan Doctors Network announced that more than 40 hospitals and 244 health centers in Khartoum have resumed operations, out of 120 hospitals and 288 health centers that had been partially or completely out of service due to the war.
The report noted that the health sector suffered severe damage during the first year of the conflict, with around 70% of hospitals rendered fully or partially non-functional due to bombing, looting, and supply shortages.
The report, compiled by the network’s monitoring team for public and private medical facilities, indicated early signs of recovery, with more than 17 hospitals under maintenance expected to reopen by January, enhancing health coverage and reducing pressure on operational facilities.
