North Darfur Governor Al-Hafiz Bakhit announced a full mobilization of youth and state components, opening training camps and readiness operations to liberate El Fasher and cleanse Darfur of rebel militias.
The governor praised the sacrifices of the Sixth Division, joint forces, intelligence, police, and popular resistance for their resilience during the El Fasher siege, highlighting the role of women and civil resistance. He described 2026 as a year for peace and stability.
During an informational meeting in Port Sudan on Saturday, the governor detailed inspections of refugee camps in White Nile, Khartoum, Kassala, Northern, and Nile states to assess conditions, identify problems, and implement solutions.
Priority areas included healthcare, education, documentation, food, and shelter.
