Al-Burhan: Trump and Mohammed bin Salman Are Keen on Establishing Peace in Sudan

Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Wednesday with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Muawiya Osman Khalid.

During the meeting, the Saudi official conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, along with their wishes for lasting peace and security for the Sudanese people.

General Al-Burhan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their concern and commitment to sustaining peace and stability in Sudan, noting the deep historical ties and fraternal relations between the two brotherly nations.

The Chairman of the Sovereign Council also voiced his appreciation to former U.S. President Donald Trump for his interest in the Sudanese file and his efforts to halt the war and promote peace.

The meeting discussed the peace initiative jointly sponsored by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and U.S. President Donald Trump, which aims to address the Sudanese crisis and achieve peace in the country, in addition to reviewing the current regional situation.

The discussions also covered ongoing arrangements for convening the Saudi-Sudanese Strategic Coordination Council, which is held under the patronage of the leaderships of both brotherly countries.
