
The Khartoum State Committee for Security Enforcement and the Restoration of State Authority announced the arrest of 25 individuals impersonating members of the “Joint Force,” including a woman posing as a major. The committee also dismantled several unauthorized checkpoints in East Nile locality.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the committee said a large-scale security operation was carried out with the participation of joint forces comprising the Sudanese Armed Forces, the police, the General Intelligence Service, and the Joint Force of armed struggle movements. The operation covered the entire geographic area of East Nile locality.
The operation resulted in the discovery of 18 illegal offices run by individuals impersonating the joint forces, and the arrest of 25 suspects, including a woman claiming the rank of major in the Sudan Liberation Army. All detainees were handed over to the military police for legal proceedings.
The statement further reported the seizure of quantities of weapons, ammunition, military uniforms, and office equipment used at the unofficial premises, in addition to the removal of unauthorized checkpoints along the Ring Road and in the Ad Babiker area of East Nile.
