Aircraft Carrying Military Equipment for the Militia Land at Nyala Airport

Local residents and military sources revealed on Saturday an increase in flights landing at Nyala International Airport in South Darfur State during the current month of January.

Residents told Darfur 24 that the number of flights landing at Nyala Airport has risen to between five and six per day since the beginning of January, with most flights typically arriving from around 5:00 p.m. until the early morning hours.

Various sources indicate that the aircraft landing at Nyala Airport are transporting weapons and advanced drones to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

The airport and its surroundings have previously been subjected to repeated airstrikes by the Sudanese army.

Multiple military sources told Darfur 24 that the RSF has installed a number of advanced jamming devices at one of its facilities in the “Al-Qasharat” area, which was targeted by an airstrike about a month ago.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing large trucks entering those facilities, adding that the RSF has barred vehicles and civilians from passing through streets leading to the site in Al-Qasharat.
