Massad Boulos: The United States Does Not Equate the Sudanese Government With Any Parallel Entity

Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the U.S. President for African Affairs, affirmed that the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Washington gave significant momentum to the Sudan file in terms of political and diplomatic coordination between the two countries.

In remarks to Al-Hadath TV, Boulos said the United States categorically rejects parallel entities in any country, stressing that Washington does not equate the internationally recognized Sudanese government with any other party to the conflict.

“There is a recognized Sudanese government, and we engage with it on that basis,” he added.

These statements reflect a clear shift in U.S. rhetoric toward supporting Sudan’s official legitimacy and rejecting any attempts to impose a fait accompli through the formation of parallel governments or political entities outside the framework of the state.
