The Sudanese army has launched a series of intensive airstrikes targeting military positions belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in North and South Kordofan states, marking a notable escalation in the ongoing military operations in the region over recent months.
According to military sources speaking to Ultra Sudan, warplanes carried out concentrated strikes on RSF positions west of Bara in North Kordofan, resulting in the destruction of several combat vehicles and the monitoring of movements described as preparations for an imminent attack on army positions in the area.
The sources indicated that the next phase will witness large-scale military operations aimed at declaring the Kordofan region free of the RSF militia, amid ongoing reinforcements and the deployment of additional combat units to confrontation fronts.
In South Kordofan, army drones targeted a joint force of the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North in the Al-Farshaya area north of Dilling, following intelligence indicating preparations to attack the city of Dilling. The strikes destroyed fully armed combat vehicles and killed several fighters, including field commanders.
The sources confirmed that the army has intensified drone sorties in recent days to disperse forces stationed in South Kordofan, which—according to assessments—are planning to launch attacks on the cities of Dilling and Kadugli, the state’s largest urban centers.
