Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Saif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani, revealed a government plan to establish a new administrative capital within Khartoum State, to be built according to modern standards that meet the requirements of the state in the post-war period.
The move comes as part of a broader vision to reconstruct the heart of the capital and transform it into an advanced urban center serving all Sudanese states.
The minister explained that reconstruction plans include high-quality urban development projects aimed at reorganizing central Khartoum and enhancing its functional efficiency, alongside the implementation of strategic programs to develop road, bridge, and railway networks through partnership models. These efforts, he said, would strengthen inter-state connectivity and restore vitality to national transportation networks.
Al-Tijani stressed that rebuilding the civil service and rehabilitating its workforce constitute a cornerstone of the comprehensive recovery project, underscoring that strengthening institutional capacities is essential to leading the reconstruction phase and achieving the desired administrative and developmental transformation.
