Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, affirmed that the determination of the Sudanese people and their unity behind the armed forces constitute the surest guarantee of victory over what he described as the rebel militia and its final defeat.
Following Friday prayers at Sheikh Al-Hadiya Complex in Kalakla Al-Qubba, Al-Burhan praised the residents of the area and those leading community initiatives, describing Kalakla as a living model of attachment to the land and resistance to injustice and rebellion.
Addressing those who question stability in the country, Al-Burhan said Kalakla stands as an example for Sudanese who have chosen reconstruction and national cohesion, serving as the strongest rebuttal to claims that the country is unsafe and attempts to obstruct the return of citizens.
He urged citizens not to be swayed by what he called the rhetoric of skeptics, conspirators, traitors, and agents opposing the return of displaced people, calling on Sudanese to return and contribute to rehabilitating vital facilities and reconstruction efforts. He declared that stability has been restored across wide areas of the country, stressing that return remains a voluntary choice for those who wish to come back. He added that during the holy month of Ramadan, Sudanese returnees would be reunited.
Al-Burhan paid tribute to the steadfastness of the Sudanese people, noting that they have sacrificed lives and property so that security may prevail. He said Sudan has begun to reap the fruits of this resilience, despite its heavy cost, and affirmed that the sacrifices made by the people would not be in vain.
He also directed messages to certain foreign countries hosting Abdullah Hamdok and his group, stating that they are acting against their own people and have become rejected due to their actions and conduct. He asserted that the Sudanese people would not accept their return as long as they continue to roam foreign capitals, adding: “Do not think of returning to this country. A people who have suffered from your conspiracies will not open their doors to you again.” He concluded by saying that they would never set foot in Sudan while, in his words, “begging with the causes of the Sudanese people.”
Al-Burhan dismissed allegations circulated by this group regarding the use of chemical weapons by the armed forces, stressing that the Sudanese Armed Forces are a national institution and that such claims would find no audience among the Sudanese people. He said the people are the armed forces, and vowed accountability for anyone attempting to tarnish the military’s reputation.
He warned the rebels against continuing to target civilians and impose restrictions on them in the areas of El-Obeid and Dilling, stressing that the armed forces would not hesitate to protect citizens, reiterating that victory is near.
