The Sudan Doctors Network reported that humanitarian aid trucks were destroyed by drones belonging to the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (Al-Hilu faction) in the Kartala area of South Kordofan state, killing three aid workers while they were performing their duties and injuring four others.
The trucks, loaded with food supplies and humanitarian assistance, were en route to Kadugli and Dilling after the lifting of a nearly three-year siege, aiming to provide urgent support to civilians affected by the blockade.
The network strongly condemned what it described as the deliberate targeting of humanitarian convoys, calling it a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and all norms prohibiting attacks on humanitarian workers. It noted that this marks the second attack on humanitarian assistance in less than a month, following the shelling of a UN-affiliated relief convoy in Al-Rahad — a dangerous escalation threatening humanitarian operations and exacerbating civilian suffering.
The Sudan Doctors Network called on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to exert urgent and effective pressure on RSF leadership to ensure the protection of aid convoys and workers, open safe and sustainable humanitarian corridors, and hold those responsible accountable to prevent further violations and guarantee unimpeded life-saving assistance.
