Sudan’s Permanent Representative in Geneva Receives Delegation Participating in Side Event on Militia Violations

Sudan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva has finalized preparations for a side event addressing crimes committed by the rebel militia, including genocide, war crimes, grave human rights violations, and breaches of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.

The event is scheduled to take place on February 26 on the sidelines of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council. The Sudanese delegation arrived in Geneva this evening, headed by Salima Ishaq, State Minister at the Ministry of Social Welfare, and including Sultan Saad Bahr El-Din, Sultan of the Massalit, along with representatives of the National Mechanism for the Protection of Civilians.

The delegation was received at Geneva International Airport by Ambassador Hassan Hamed Hassan, Sudan’s Permanent Representative, and members of the mission.
