Minister of Finance Pledges Coordination with the Central Bank to Finance Agricultural Season Inputs

Minister of Finance Dr. Jibril Ibrahim pledged to coordinate with the Central Bank of Sudan to ensure the provision of the required financing for production inputs for the upcoming agricultural season.

During a joint meeting held on Sunday with Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Dr. Ismat Qurashi, Central Bank Governor Amina Mirghani, and Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance Makki Abdel Rahim, priorities necessary for the success of the season were identified, including fertilizers, adequate seeds, fuel, and the mechanisms for financing them.

The meeting emphasized the importance of involving the banking sector in financing production processes in order to achieve the state’s objectives in the agricultural sector.

The Minister of Finance also reviewed, during the meeting—attended by directors of general departments from both the ministry and the Central Bank—the performance of the state’s general budget for the current year, confirming that it is proceeding as planned with full alignment between fiscal and monetary policies. The meeting stressed the need for close coordination between the two and for supporting digital transformation in the banking sector to serve the goals of the state and citizens.
