As part of the activities of the Cairo International Book Fair in its 55th edition , January 24 to February 6, at Egypt International Exhibition Center in the 5th Settlement, Sudanese journalist Mahmoud Al-Danao launches his first novel, issued by Adda Publishing and Distribution House in the Arab Republic of Egypt, under the title: Sapna is a story from a country Himalayas is a short novel, with an average length of 170 pages.
The novel addresses the issue of identity at all levels, starting from personal identity, until Sapna, the heroine of the novel, spends twenty years searching for his father’s identity, and in doing so he goes through a series of obstacles and situations.
The novel addresses the political and cultural identities and their manifestations in the immigrant through the narration of the personal life of Abdulaziz, who immigrated from Darfur to Germany, and his friend Hoshyar, the Iraqi Kurd from the outskirts of Erbil, and their meeting with Ashok the Nepali, the son of the diplomat, who chose to remain in Germany after the political identity of his country was replaced by the regime. The writer adopts the style of a knowledgeable narrator who wanders while narrating the facts and events within the novel in a tour of the geography, history, customs and traditions of the people of Nepal to provide an introduction to the Sudanese and Arab reader in general about the Himalayan country, as it is the first novel about this country by an Arab writer.
