MSF- Spain Provides Medical Services in Sudan on an Ongoing Basis

The Spanish team of Doctors Without Borders in Sudan announced its commitment to continuing to provide health services in the states, in accordance with the directives of the Federal Ministry of Health regarding the import of medicines and medical devices.
During the meeting with the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, in his office today in Port Sudan, the team called for adding some areas in Khartoum State in Karari locality to contribute to providing the service, especially since the area has a high population density, pointing out that the service will continue to be provided in Al_Kalakla area in Khartoum, in addition to facilitating movement of its medical personnel.
While the Minister promised to work on removing the obstacles hindering the organization’s work in coordination with all relevant parties, stressing the continuation of cooperation between them and facilitating procedures related to medical and logistical supplies.
He stressed the need for more cooperation with other organizations, whether international or local, to fill the gaps.
On another hand, he noted that Al-Fath Hospital in the city of Omdurman needs interventions due to the population density and the high frequency there, pointing to the necessity of accommodating the organization’s local medical staff.
