A British company won the deal to design the Grand Casablanca Stadium, which is scheduled to seat 115,000 spectators, in preparation for hosting the 2030 World Cup matches in partnership with Spain and Portugal.
The company announced on its official website that it had won the deal, and said that Casablanca Stadium is expected to be the largest football stadium in the world.
It added that the stadium derives its identity from the “season” culture in Morocco, as its structure is located under the roof of a large tent that appears as an exciting intervention in the forest landscape, noting that the stadium’s location extends over an area of 100 acres in the city of Mansouria in the Benslimane province (38 km north of Casablanca).
The stadium will be compatible with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) book of regulations, especially for organizing the 2030 World Cup matches, as well as the matches of Moroccan teams.
The Maghreb countries, along with Portugal and Spain, revealed the slogan for the 2030 World Cup, “Let’s go, let’s go.”
The logo was presented by the Portuguese Luis Figo, the Spaniard Andres Iniesta, and the Moroccan Noureddine Naybet, ambassadors for the 2030 World Cup, in addition to Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor, the former Togolese national team star, as an ambassador for Africa in the tournament.
