German press reports suggested that the legendary Frenchman Zinedine Zidane would enter the list of candidates to coach Bayern Munich, succeeding current coach Thomas Tuchel, at the end of the current season.
Zinedine Zidane is one of the strong candidates to lead Bayern Munich, succeeding current technical director Thomas Tuchel, at a time when the transfer of Xabi Alonso has become very difficult.
The report added that Franck Ribery will join coach Zidane’s staff and work as an assistant, if negotiations between Bavarian and the French coach succeed.
Zidane has remained full-time since the end of his second term with Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, while Franck Ribery retired from football in October 2022 after a long career that ended with the Italian team Salernitana.
Ribery spent a long career with Bayern Munich, during which he wore the German team’s shirt for 12 years during the period between 2007 and 2019. Thomas Tuchel announced his departure from the leadership of Bayern Munich at the end of the current season.
In another context, there are doubts about the participation of Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich goalkeeper, in his team’s match against Borussia Dortmund in the German Football League “Bundesliga”, after his absence from group training and engaging in individual training.
Neuer suffered a ruptured muscle fiber while he was with the German national team, causing him to miss the two friendly matches against France and the Netherlands. Manziel Neuer is expected to be replaced by substitute goalkeeper Sven Ulrich, if he is not ready for Saturday’s match.
