Novelist Buthaina Khader Makki: I no longer have time to replace my library
Sudan Events – Magda Hassan
Sudanese novelist Buthaina Khader Makki described the destruction of her library by the Rapid Support RSF Militia as an irreparable tragedy and disaster.
Buthaina Khader Makki still during that period continued to find sympathy from writers inside Sudan and abroad after a video was circulated explaining what happened to her home and library.
Buthaina said, “I used to collect books from libraries and book fairs from various Arab and European countries that I visited and stayed in some of them, such as (the ant storeroom).
I prepared them for my free time for literary work in a library that was open to a large number of intellectuals and writers.”
She continued, “It is a severe tragedy and a loss that there is no longer enough time in life to compensate for.”
