WHO Confirms Support to Health Sector in Sudan

Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom, affirmed supporting to the health sector in Sudan, promising to increase rapid interventions according to the needs named by the Federal Ministry of Health.
This statement was made while meeting the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, at the sidelines of WHO 70th session.
The Regional Committee of the Eastern Mediterranean in Cairo today, Adhanom affirmed that health in Sudan is considered one of the organisation’s priorities.
For his part, Ibrahim said that donors had played a role in bridging the gap in medicines and medical consumables.
He added that the aid should cover the actual need, demanding the organisation to increase interventions and rapid responses to rebuild the health system.
