Omdurman’s poem, written by journalist and poet Mohamed Mohamed Khair, topped the streets of Omdurman. It is a long poem documenting the revival of Omdurman.
Muhammad Khair said in an interview with (Al-Ahdath) that he wrote this poem in a moment of homesickness during the cold nights of Canada, and the artist Hamza Suleiman cut it out to suit the rhyme of the song. “This poem was composed and sung by the artist Hamza Suleiman, one of the members of the Iqd Al-Jalad singing group, and it is now placed on a painting at the entrance to Omdurman after its liberation,” He added. “How noble these people are.” He continued.
