Sudan Events – Magda Hassan

The Ali El-Zein Center for Culture and Arts in Egypt celebrated World Book and Copyright Day.
It is noteworthy that the celebration is held every year on April 23, in accordance with a UNESCO resolution since 1995 to celebrate books, book authors, and their rights.
The date of World Book and Copyright Day is considered a symbolic date in the world of literature, as it coincides with the anniversary of the death of a number of international writers, such as Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare, and Garcilaso de la Vega.
As part of this day’s celebrations, the organization selects a city as the International Book Capital.
This year, the French city of Strasbourg outperformed a number of other international cities, such as Amman, Riyadh, and Havana, and won the title of “World Book Capital” for the year 2024.
