Ousmane Dembélé, the French national team player, said that his team trained on penalty kicks before facing Portugal. Dembélé confirmed that everyone was very confident before taking the penalty shootout against Portugal in the quarter-finals of the European Championship, and none of the French players missed their shots, as the Roosters qualified to the semi-finals of the European Nations, after overcoming Portugal’s obstacle on penalties (5-3), to set up a date with Spain in the semi-finals. “We trained on penalty kicks and felt confident before executing them. We learned a lot from our experience in the World Cup in Qatar (France lost the match). We deserved this win.” He added. “When you reach this stage of the competition, you want to reach the end. Since 2016, this team has reached advanced stages in international tournaments, with the exception of 2021, which was difficult. We have built our character and we always try to go the extra mile. These are difficult competitions and we have reached the semi-finals, and the strength of this team is what made us here.” He continued.
